We’re working with the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles to ensure that all syringes are properly stored and safely disposed. In September of 2008, California law changed and now requires that all household syringes must be disposed of in a proper container at designated syringe disposal locations. It is illegal to dispose of syringes in places like beaches, parks and playgrounds and is punishable by fine. Please dispose of your syringes responsibly.
Need a sharps container? We are working closely with the City of Los Angeles to make free sharps containers available at all independent DPDP pharmacies within Los Angeles city limits in the near future.Free sharps container are currently available throughout the County at designated distribution sites. For more information on proper syringe disposal please see the Syringe Disposal Brochure.
